About
Bill Haseltine
William Robert Haseltine grew up in North Haven, Connecticut. He was born in 1956, the youngest of five children. Both parents were teachers and had a huge influence on his adventuresome spirit and imagination growing up.
He attended Southern Connecticut State University in the late 1980’s. Working at an Independent Retirement facility for 37 years, he also pursued his passion for martial arts. He has written several songs, essays on martial arts, and life experiences. This is his first children’s book.
The Book:
The Hero of Snow Valley outlines the journey of a wilderness family experiencing the failures and fun of shoveling snow. The Dad educates his children on the proper method of shoveling by engaging their imagination and interest sharing a magical, ancient tale. Thereafter, the children are excited enough to pounce into the challenge with their father and use what they just learned.
The overall story is filled with fun and humor. The children learn the value of teamwork. And the ancient tale, as it evokes emotional interest with sadness, worry, compassion, and great joy, provides some essential ingredients for family integrity, healthful education, and entertainment.
